The mission of the Woodview PTO is to support the education of students at Woodview by fostering relationships among the school, parents and staff. We host free family social events such as our Ice Cream Social, Movie Night and Dodgeball Night. In addition, we have fundraising events such as Wings Over Woodview as well as our Dine and Share events which allows families to take the time to site down to enjoy a meal from a local establishment and mingle with other families while giving back to the community as well as supporting resources for Woodview School.
How are funds raised?
The Woodview PTO aims to provide a variety of giving opportunities to Woodview families, and also to minimize the impact of fundraisers on our parents and their pocketbooks. Participation in any fundraiser is, of course, optional. We hope that by hosting events such as the Wings Over Woodview Fun Run, parents have the chance not only to donate to a worthwhile cause, but also enjoy to partake in this event with their child in this ALL SCHOOL event.
The focus of the Woodview PTO is to minimize the number of fundraisers we host. Wings Over Woodview Fun Run is our PRIMARY fundraiser. We have been very successful in raising on average $20,000 annually on this event.
Every dollar raised goes directly back to resources for Woodview including
- Curriculum enrichment including technological purchases such as iPads
- Field trip stipends
- Library enrichment
- Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS)
- Playground upgrades
- Outdoor classroom, garden management and Sprouts Garden Club
In addition, we have some other events that Woodview families partake in that help us support our community and have fun along the way:
- Scholastic Book Fairs
- Dine & Share Events
- Lip Sync Show
- Spiritwear Sales
- Giving Tree
- Square 1 Art
- Box Tops for Education
